Hen and Chicken - Pub Design

This community venue had become a rundown and unpopular sports pub in an increasingly up-and-coming suburb. The aim of the pub design process was to tap into the emerging younger and more affluent market with an all day offering of food and drink. In addition to the bar design, Simple Simon were also asked to refresh the pub's branding.

Bar Design Details

An island bar in the centre of the large open plan space helps to create zones on either side. Seating of various heights and styles was used to continue to break up the space and form more intimate areas. The interior design of the bar was intentionally more contemporary, aimed at the young professionals who had been moving into the area, and the colour scheme and lighting were designed to maximise the all day offering.
