Restaurant Design - Aqua
Clifton was the second Aqua restaurant design that Simple Simon undertook. The site was in a fantastic location, but was desperately out of date and in need of serious attention.
When the client presented their aims, the potential for stripping out virtually everything and creating a double height space with a mezzanine above became fundamental to the restaurant design. A new kitchen and toilets were added at the rear of the property allowing Simple Simon to maximise the dining space within the original building.
Restaurant Design Details
A key element of the restaurant design was the marble topped bar that was installed at the main entrance, with an opulent back bar from long slivers of mirror reaching almost to the ceiling. The main dining areas are bathed in a warm glow from porcelain chandeliers, and the chimney breasts finished in a luxurious silk wallpaper. Following the success of the new Clifton site, Aqua asked Simple Simon to reinvigorate the design of their original waterside restaurant.
