Pasty Presto - Cafe Design

Simple Simon have designed the new cafe restaurant for Pasty Presto in Lyme Regis. The cafe designers worked with the client to revise their existing retail design, introducing new materials and finishes and creating a more authentically Cornish experience. Simple Simon drew on the experience they had gained in working with the National Trust and in private cafe's such as Tart in Bristol, to ensure the operational success of the service areas.

Cafe Design Details

Materials were selected to introduce flavours that were either more traditional or that gave more of a 'seaside' feel. Rough sawn lapwood paneling was used in pastel colours that echo beach huts, and in the darker areas 2 large images of Cornish coastal scenes were printed on otherwise featureless walls. Cleaved slate tiles were used on vertical surfaces to lend a Cornish pedigree of the offering.
