Located in Litton, the former Kings Arms is undergoing a full refurbishment and we are excited to be the designers assigned to the job.
Litton is a quaint village just north of Chewton Mendip, surrounded by countryside and in need of a traditional country pub.
Having changed hands and undergone many a refurb in the last few years, we've stripped back the interior to fully understand the scope and demands of the project. Removing the layers and exposing the structural elements has allowed us to begin restoring this 15th Century building back to it's impressive natural state.
Exposing the raw elements has, of course, created some structural challenges. Never the less, we have cracked on and with the help of a local structural engineering company the building is now really taking shape. It's not been all bad, we've uncovered some original features along the way; all of which we are restoring back to their natural charm.
We don't want to give too much away at this stage, but if you know the former Kings Arms you'll be able to appreciate how exciting this project is for the local community and our client.
The interior, accommodation suites and large gardens are going to be restored throughout, internal works include many a quirky design element to house the carefully considered offering of locally sourced and home grown grub, accompanied by an extensive offering of craft beer and cider. There's even a liquor Bar!
