Holiday Inn Bristol - Public Areas

Posted Wed 08th December, 2010 by Hally

Approval has recently been received of our designs for the 2nd floor public areas of the new Barton House Holiday Inn. One of the greatest challenges has been posed by the low ceilings due to the building's original construction as an office block. We have used a mixture of ceiling and floor finishes to delineate the different areas of the mixed use space. The front of the bar and reception desk will be stepped contours of solid surface material with LED halo lighting.

The client wanted a very clean and light look for the restaurant which is why so much of the lighting has been sunk into the ceiling. The glass curtain wall overlooking Bristol city centre provides both natural light and drama. The restaurant seating is a mixture of chairs and banquettes to offer flexibility by accommodating large groups and providing a more intimate experience for couples and loan diners.
