Bath University, Students Union

Posted Sat 08th October, 2011 by Ben

The refreshed Bath University student union has opened at the start of a new term.

Simple Simon have completed the Bath Student Union Bar and Nightclub refurbishment in time for the new term. The refreshed facility opened to students for the first time last night and has been extremely well received. The student union building had been rebuilt last year but although completed to a good specification it was felt to be too cold and unwelcoming, and as such was rejected by the students.

Simple Simon Design have created a far more contemporary interior by introducing leather sofas and chunky oak sleeper tables to the bar, as well as redecorating throughout with a mix of textures and papers to create an area with a more industrial "dressed-down" feel. The club has seen a more significant change to the previously institutional feeling space, with the introduction of organic curved banquette seating breaking up the featureless space and creating more intimate group zones. Wall to Wall digitally printed bespoke wallpaper on 2 walls and the long glazed side elevation have created a rmore dynamic nighttime environment that has a more genuine club feel.
